Dubai Chamber launches electronic attestation service and enhances its range of smart services

As part of  commitment to the vision of Smart Dubai, and to facilitate business operations for customers through smart transformation,  Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced the launch of the electronic attestation service and the authentication of signatures on documents, which raises the percentage of smart transformation of core services to 98%.

The Chamber drew attention to the activation of this smart service from March 19, 2020, whereby members of the Chamber can submit all transactions requiring authentication electronically through the Dubai Chamber website. The completion of the online attestation process from submission to approval does not exceed four hours.

The Chamber now has an integrated system of smart and electronic services that cover all the needs and requirements of the business community, and enables investors to complete all their transactions remotely in accordance with the highest international standards and practices.

In 2019, the Chamber accomplished an average of 1,600 ratifications per month, accounting for ratification of more than 18,800 transactions.

Membership growth and temporary entry books

On the other hand, the Chamber revealed that 3,105 new companies joined in the first two months of 2020, with a growth of 4.7% compared to the same period last year, reaffirming business continuity and bringing the total number of members to more than 248,000.

The Chamber indicated that the number of ATA Carnets for goods received by the UAE increased by 11.6% to reach 1,365 ATA Carnet compared to 1,223 during the same period last year.  The value of goods under ATA Carnet received by the UAE during the first two months of 2020 increased by 5.8%  to reach AED 1.2 billion.

The number of ATA Carnet issued by the Chamber during the same period reached 38 with growth of 11.7% compared to the first two months of 2019, while the value of goods and commodities under ATA Carnet issued by the chamber during this period was AED 5.8 million.

Smart Chamber  

His Excellency Hamad Buamim, President & CEO, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry pointed out that the launch of the electronic attestation service is a continuation of  smart transformation adopted by them to be a smart Chamber. The aim is to introduce changes that are compatible with the business environment and Dubai Government’s Smart City vision. Keeping this in view, the Chamber continues to invest in modern technologies, such as the fourth industrial revolution technologies, in a way that supports the business community.

Buamim pointed out that the Chamber works with the mandate of simplifying, facilitating and speeding up business services which benefit their customers. As a result, with the launch of the electronic attestation service, 98% of Chamber’s core services have undergone smart transformation.

Dubai Chamber provides a wide range of smart services that meet all the requirements of the business community through various channels to enrich customer experience, including smart applications and the website in addition to smart kiosks spread across the Emirate of Dubai.

This confirms its commitment to supporting the transformation of its private sector into a smart and developed community. The smart services provided by the Chamber include, issuing certificates of origin, attestation, membership services, research and business intelligence reports, business and legal services, and issuing ATA Carnet, Dubai Chamber CSR label, credit rating, Business Groups and Council services, as well as services available to economic and professional bodies.

The smart services provided by the Dubai Chamber when it comes to membership include the issuance, renewal and amendment of membership. For ATA Carnet, members can access services concerning issuance, renewal as well as replacement.

The Chamber’s smart legal service provides legal representation and information, while members can get ratification of signatures, copies and stamps through our smart attestation services. Attestation services include attestation of signature, seals and a true copy.

Too add to this, Business Groups and Councils can benefit from authorisations and renewal of permits, while those looking for information and business intelligence on various parameters can access case studies and research reports.
