Fun-filled summer awaits families and children at entertainment centres and attractions across Dubai

As more sectors resume commercial activities after a temporary closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, several entertainment centres and attractions in Dubai have opened their doors once again to provide fun-filled experiences to families and children in the UAE, and also to tourists who have selected the city as their summer destination of choice.

The reopening of entertainment centres and attractions has also given a timely boost to Dubai’s annual summer calendar of events led by the citywide Dubai Summer Surprises festival, offering more options for residents who are keen to get back to their normal life and highlighting Dubai’s position as a leading family tourism destination.

With the gradual easing of pandemic-related restrictions, residents and visitors are now able to experience the diversity of Dubai’s offerings covering the tourism, leisure, entertainment and retail sectors.  In addition to visiting shopping malls, they can also enjoy a variety of facilities and amenities including public and hotel beaches, restaurants, swimming pools and golf courses, as well as popular activities like water sports and camping.

Entertainment and theme parks, as well as recreational centres which include fun fairs, soft play facilities, indoor and inflatable playgrounds, virtual reality and edutainment facilities and amusement arcades are allowed to operate in line with stringent guidelines issued by Dubai Municipality to ensure the highest standards of public health and safety.

Visitors to these entertainment centres and attractions must wear masks at all times and follow social distancing rules while these facilities must undergo regular cleaning and disinfection before, during and after opening hours, and do a temperature scan of staff and visitors before they enter the entertainment areas. Rides, play areas, or common areas should operate at 50 per cent capacity based on the two metre social distancing rule while in rides or games that involve multiple groups, people of a single group are allowed to be seated together.
